Looking for a unique and interesting way to tell your significant other that you love them? Do you enjoy grueling physical exercise that will push you beyond your mental and physical limits? Well then… you’re in luck!
Starting on Friday December 1st at 8pm, Jonathan Toews, along with several other friends and associates, will be venturing off on what will be another arduous 24-hour hiking adventure as a way to let that special someone know just how much they really mean to them. And sure… roses work too, but where’s the fun in that?
The hike will officially take place along the Bruce Trail, starting at the Ball’s Falls Conservation Centre (free overnight parking), where a small team of local trail blazers will proceed to hike all the way out to Queenston Heights in Niagara-on-the-Lake and then back again to Ball’s Falls. The total distance is approximately 110 km and should take upwards of 24 consecutive hours to complete.
Would you like to join along?
The good news is that you can either choose to participate for the entire duration or you can tag along for as much or as little as you’d like. It should be noted however, that this is not an officially sanctioned event, therefore, there is no fundraising involved. This also means that each participant will be responsible for their own well-being, transportation, food, water, equipment, and if need be – rescue.
In fact, if you do plan on attending, it’s probably a good idea to have a friend or family member on stand-by in case you need any assistance along the way. Unfortunately, the other hikers involved will not be able to stop simply because you’ve bitten off more than you can chew.
